In Dungeonborne, Cryomancer is an Undead Range Class. What makes Cryomancer great is his ability to deal a lot of damage while controlling the enemy. It is an extremely strong class that can solo any melee class without problems. The downside of Cryomancer is that you need to be extremely careful about your positioning. Cryomancer’s goal is to control the enemy and deal damage over time. The longer the fight is, the higher the chance of you winning.
Cryomancer is great for solo, duo, and trios. The only difference is that you need to learn how to position and work with your team.
Cryomancer Skills
When it comes to Cryomancer’s skills in Dungeonborne, there are 4 available: Frostbite Curse, Ice Storm, Ice Armor, and Frost Barrier.
Frostbite Curse is an extremely strong skill that works great in solos, duos, and trios. What this skill does is put a dot on an enemy that will deal damage over time, heal you, and slow the enemy. Only one dot can be put on the enemy, so if you are in duos and trios, try to dot all enemy players. Once you hit an enemy with Q, pull up your other range weapon and start hitting them.
Ice Storm is a great skill for duos, especially for trios, but for solos, avoid this skill. This skill will slow down enemies by 80% and deal damage to them. The problem with this skill is that it has a long channeling time, so in solo, you will not have that time. Overall, if you manage to get 2 enemy players inside and drop lighting over them, they will receive an insane amount of damage. To get the most out of Ice Storm, your team needs a lot of coordination, so for new players, it is better to use Frostbite Curse.
Ice Armor is a skill that is basically a shield that you can cast on teammates or on yourself. Great against crossbows, but Frost Barrier will give you more value.
Frost Barrier is a much better skill than Frost Barrier. The reason is that with the Frost Barrier, you can avoid a lot of damage. For example, if the enemy drops a thunder flask on you and uses lighting staff or fighter spins, you can simply use Frost Barrier, which will block all the damage. So basically, with Frost Barrier, you can block the most powerful skill that the enemy has.
Frostbite Curse: Deal 27.22(36.00%) active damage and slowing the enemy for 60% for 1 second, and inflict a frost curse on the target, causing them to take 12.10(16.00%) passive damage every second for the next 10 seconds, and restoring 6.48(4.00%) Life to yourself. Only one stack of Frost Curse can exist on the same target at any time. (Requires a Staff/Orb)
Ice Storm: Guide a moving small-scale Ice Storm that can be moved by clicking on the ground, dealing 6.05(8.00%) damage and applying a 40% slow to enemies. When the channeling is complete, the Ice Storm stops moving and unleashes a blizzard at its location, dealing 9.07(12.00%) damage and continuously apply a 80% slow to enemies within radius. (Requires a Staff/Orb)
Ice Armor: Apply a 145.77(90.00%) shield to an ally target, lasting 60 seconds. When taking active damage from close range, slows the attacker for 60% for 2 seconds; this can only trigger once. Press Interaction Key (F) to apply it to yourself. (Requires a Staff/Orb)
Frost Barrier: Encase yourself in a frost barrier, lasting for 5 seconds. During this time, you will not take damage and recover 1.30% life per second. Using this skill while channeling Ice Storm will not interrupt the casting. The Cryomancer can remove the barrier at any time.
Cryomancer Stats and Passive Skills
When it comes to passive skills and stats for Cryomancer build, your main focus should be:
Dexterity: Get dexterity to 31 to unlock Permafrost. This will allow you to get 1 soul energy on Crit. The reason why we recommend this is that you will always be out of energy when fighting, so this will allow you to never run out of energy. Now if you are running low-budget gear that does not have a chance, then getting this is not the best option. Without a high crit chance, you will not crit as much, so you will not receive energy.
Stamina: Stamina is an extremely great skill. The reason is that you or your team will get a shield when attacking a target that is affected by Q’s ability. This will increase the survivability of you and your teammates in the fight.
Will: If you get Will on 49, your damage from Q will be increased based on your distance. The further the distance, the more damage you will do. We all know that you will never fight in close combat with Cryomancer, so you will get additional benefit from keeping distance tnx to Will passive skill.
Intelligence: Intelligence is great but not as important as the other 3 stats above. If you get intelligence on 59, it will increase your damage on Q skill, but only in the first phase. Yes, it will boost damage, but the other 3 stats are more important. Get intelligence stats only if you are able.
Cryomancer do not benefit from Strength and Faith, so they should be avoided.
Permafrost: Restore 1 Soul Energy when dealing critical damage.
Activation Condition: Dexterity: 31
Frost Echoes: When allies deal unblocked active damage to targets affected by [Frostbite Curse] or [Ice Storm], gain a 40-point shield. This effect does not stack.
Activation Condition: Stamina: 33
Frostbite: The damage dealt by the first phase of [Frostbite Curse] or [Ice Storm] is increased by 50%.
Activation Condition: Intelligence: 59
Bone Chilling: When the distance between and the target affected by [Frostbite Curse] or [Ice Storm] exceeds 15 meters, the farther the distance, the greater the damage dealt by [Frostbite Curse] or [Ice Storm]. At a distance of over 25 meters, the damage increase caps at 30%.
Activation Condition: Will: 49
Cryotherapy: When dealing cold damage, gain stacks of [Crytherapy]. Consume all stacks on the next use of [Frost Barrier] or [Ice Armor] to recover 0.5 Life per stack.
Activation Condition: Faith: 24
Cryomancer Weapons and Equipment
Cryomancers can use a lot of different weapons in Dungeonborne: one-handed swords, daggers, staffs, and orbs. What you will choose depends on your playstyle and stats.
- Staff + One-Handed Sword and Orbe
One-Handed Sword + Orbe is a must for Cryomancer. Without it, you will not have any defense abilities that will allow you to block enemy attacks or attack them in melee range. You are losing so much value if you do not use them.
Staff is also a must for Cryomancer. What staff you will use depends on your playstyle, but we recommend fire staff, especially if you are playing solo. Fire staff will allow you to damage enemy players while they are slowed, and you will have much more control. Slow, then use staff. With Lightning Staff, you will have 2 charges that enemy players can easily dodge, so you will not have any other weapons that can hit them from a distance. The only time when I would use Lightning Staff is if I am using Ice Storm Skill in Duos or Trios. If you manage to get enemies inside Strom Skill, they will not be able to move, so you will be guaranteed to hit them with lightning.
Equipment and Equipment Stats
For Cryomancer Equipment and Heirlooms, create a combination of Will, Stamina, and Dexterity so you can get the 3 most important skills, and then you can get the rest of the pieces for intelligence. Additionally, you should aim for stats that can enhance your damage and increase your crit rate. You want to have a 100% critical chance so you can generate souls from the Dexterity passive skill. Additionally, you can get frost damage bonuses on your gear for extra damage.
