In Dungeonborne, Death Knight is a strong Undead Melee class. Death Knight is great for pulling range enemy units and brusting them down, thanks to his AOE skills and slows. Death Knight’s requirement for Soul Energy to activate his skills makes it unfavorable to have two or three of them in your team. This is an extremely slow class, so you will have a hard time playing in an open area where range units can move freely. There are a lot of different builds that you can create for Death Knight, but it all depends on your playstyle.
Death Knight Skills
When it comes to Death Knight Skills in Dungeonborne, you’ll always have Grasp of the Grave. Grasp of the Grave is a great skill when you want to pull a range class like Priest so you can burst him down. Also, more advanced players use this skill to interrupt heavy attacks from melee classes. Also, when you pull an enemy, you should throw Thunderclap Flask down to slow down the enemy even more so you can do damage with melee and skills.
Should you choose Soulstorm or Soul Shroud for our build? It depends on your playstyle. I found out that Soul Shroud is better because it deals more damage and is great if you are planning to burst enemies down. The problem is if you activate Soul Shroud but an enemy escapes, you will have to wait for a 30-second cooldown to activate it again, but most likely you will not have the energy to activate it again. With Soulstorm, you can activate and deactivate it whenever you want. Also, casting is instant, while Soul Shroud takes 1 sec to be cast.
So if you are more about bursting the enemy down, pick Soul Shroud; if you are more about playing safe, use Soulstorm.
SoulStorm: Unleashes Soul Energy, continuously dealing 13.60 passive shadow damage to nearby enemies. While active, it continuously consumes Soul Energy and can be stopped at any time. While the skill is active, damage taken is reduced by 15%.
Soul Shroud: Summon evil spirits to surround yourself. When the skill is activated, enemies near you are slowed by 25% for 1 seconds, and then continuously deal 27.20 shadow damage to surrounding enemies. This damage is further influenced by your Strength, Intelligence, and Will attributes. While the skill is active, damage taken is reduced by 15%.
Grasp of the Grave: Fire a spectral hand at the target, dealing 75.08(100.00%) Shadow active damage and pulling the target to you. Friendly targets are immune to the damage. Recover a small amount of Soul Energy if it hits an enemy target.
Death Knight Stats and Passive Skills
When it comes to Passive Skills and Stats for Death Knight build your main focus should be:
Stamina: Stamina is the most important stat for Death Knight. When you reach 39 stamina, you will unlock the skill Soul Cage, which will provide you with a shield for 200 damage that can be a lifesaver.
Strength: Strength unlocking Grim Harvest that will allow you to generate energy by grabbing enemy players or mobs. It will also increase your overall damage.
Dexterity: Dexterity: When you reach 33 Dexterity, you will unlock skill Decay. This skill is particularly useful when you pull an enemy and want to burst him down.
For intelligence, will and faith, you can skip them. Some players use them, but they are specific to certain situations or ways of playing, so it’s best for you to avoid them. They are more for PVE content.
Grim Harvest: [Grasp of the Grave] generates 20 Soul Energy if it hits an enemy target.
Activation Condition: Strength: 54
Decay: Enemies affected by [Soul Shroud] or [Soulstorm] have their movement speed reduced by 15% for 0.5 seconds.
Activation Condition: Dexterity: 33
Soul Cage: [Soul Shroud] or [Soulstorm] grants a shield that can absorb 200 damage of any type when activated, lasting 8 seconds with a 30 second cooldown.
Activation Condition: Stamina: 39
Soul Reaper: Resets the cooldown of [Grasp of the Grave] after killing an enemy player.
Activation Condition: Intelligence: 42
Life Steal: Absorbing 1 Soul Energy orb restores 14 Life.
Activation Condition: Will: 24
Death Knight Weapons and Equipment
Death Knight can use a lot of different weapons in Dungeonborne: One-Handed Swords, Crossbows, Shields, Two-Handed Swords, One-handed Maces. What you will choose depends on your playstyle and stats.
- Two-Handed Sword + Mace and Shield
- Two-Handed Sword + One-Handed Sword and Shield
- Two-Handed Sword + 2x One-Handed Sword
Two-Handed Sword: Two-Handed Sword is a must for Dead Knight build. The reason is that it will provide you with a lot of stats but with a Two-Handed sword, but most importantly, it will allow you to burst down the enemy. So you want to grab the enemy, use Thunderclap Flask, drop your Q ability, and start hitting the enemy. If you are fighting against an enemy that is using shield, then Two-Handed Sword is a perfect weapon. With a heavy attack using a Two-Handed sword, you are able to break through his defense. Without a Two-Handed Sword you will be extremely limited.
Swords: Swords are great when you are not able to use heavy attacks from Two-Handed Swords. Great for hunting enemy players.
Mace and Shield: Great weapons when you are going on budget. With Mace and Shield, you are able to increase your stamina so you can proc Soul Cage Skill. Great against enemy players who are using swords and daggers.
Crossbow: You can use Crossbow if you want to play safe and damage enemies from range, but it is not that effective on Death Knight so I would not recommend using it.
Equipment and Equipment Stats
For Equipment and Heirlooms, create a combination of Strength, Stamina and Dexterity so you can get 3 most important skills. Additionally, you want to get stats that will further increase your damage, like Max Damage increase on stacks on kill. Dead Knight is an extremely slow class, so you can get movement speed. If you get equipment with Will, you can keep it. It will increase your skill damage, but if you get gear with faith and intelligence, just replace it. It is not worth having it.
