In Dungeonborne, Rogue is a human melee class. What makes Rogue great is his ability to deal a lot of damage, kite enemies, escape, and clear mobs extremely fast. There are a lot of ways to play Rogue. Thus, Rogue is a class for fun and farming. Unfortunately, the Rogue class has low HP, so enemies can one-shot you if you play poorly. Without passive skills, you cannot play Rogue that efficiently, but the problem is that in order to activate all skills, you need a lot of stats. This is a problem for new players who do not have optimized heirlooms and low budgets. Once you get all passive skills, you can do wonders.
Rogue is mostly a class in which you will play solo. For duos and trios, it can be tricky because the enemy team can one-shot you if you are not careful.
Rogue Skills
When it comes to skills for Rogue, you have 5 available: Quick Blades, Petrifying Poison, Shadow Veil, Swift Concealment, and Vanish.
Quick Blades: Quick Blades is a skill that will throw 6 daggers, dealing damage and slowing the enemy. Also, it will buy you some time, but from testing, Petrifying Poison will give you much better value.
Petrifying Poison is an extremely useful skill. When you activate this skill, you will immobilize the target for 6 seconds. This will buy you so much time to heal, escape, and reset the fight. Now you have to be extremely careful when you are using Petrifying Poison because if an enemy block attacks, you will not apply Petrifying Poison to them. On top of that, if an enemy that has Petrifying Poison on them gets attacked, Petrifying Poison will get removed. If an NPC or other player hits the enemy, it will remove Petrifying Poison. If you are playing as a team against Rogue, this is useful to know. If your teammate gets Petrifying Poison on them, just hit them to remove it. If you do not do that, you will basically fight alone for 6 seconds.
Shadow Veil is unique skill requires a team to maximize. Essentially, this skill will give stealth to all teammates, allowing you to escape or get close to the enemy without them realizing it. The problem is that it only works in duos and trios. Overall, you can create some great plays, but other skills are better.
Swift Concealment and Vanish: They are both great skills, but I found Swift Concealment more useful. There are a few reasons why Swift Concealment is a much better skill. The first reason is that the Swift Concealment skill is instant, so you can escape from a fight extremely fast, while Vanish has channeling for 3 seconds, which is a lot if you want to escape. The positive about Vanish is that you will be much longer under stealth compared to Swift Concealment, but if you get your dexterity on 62, you’ll basically easily be under invisibility if you kill the enemy. So I would recommend that you use Swift Concealment when you have great gear and stats, while Vanish is great for rogues who are on budget gear and are not able to get their stats to get passive skills.
Quick Blades: Shoots 6 daggers to attack multiple enemies in front, dealing 8.84(20.00%) active damage and causing a 3 second 70% slow effect.
Petrifying Poison: Coats melee or ranged weapon with poison. The next successful attack inflicts [Petrify] to the target. [Petrify] immobilizes the target, reduces incoming damage by 100%. The effect is removed when the target is attacked.
Shadow Veil: After preparing for 3 seconds, grants nearby allies (excluding Panthers) [Stealth] for 15 seconds, increasing critical damage for Rogues during [Stealth].
Swift Concealment: Immediately enter [Stealth] for 6 seconds, critical damage is increased during [Stealth].
Vanish: Enter [Stealth] for 30 seconds after channeling for 3 seconds, critical damage is increased during [Stealth].
Rogue Stats and Passive Skills
When it comes to Passive Skills and Stats for Rogue Build, your main focus should be:
Dexterity: Get dexterity to 62 always if you are playing Rogue. The reason is that you will get passive skills that will give you stealth each time you kill enemy players or monsters. With this, you will clear monsters extremely fast. Not a single class will be able to do it as fast as Rogue. On 93 dexterity, you will get 200 movement speed, which is insane, so if you can afford it, then push dexterity to 93. It is 100% worth it, especially if you are farming. With dexterity, you will deal more damage with blocks. This is especially important when you are playing solo, where blocking is important in 1vs1, while in duos and trios, you will block but not that often. For Duos and Trios, it is better.
Strength: Strength is another important stat for Rogue. When you reach 29 strength, you will apply poison to the target if you are in stealth. It works great against clearing monsters and attacking enemy players from a distance using a crossbow. On 60 strength, you will get life steal, but it can be hard to achieve if you are getting dexterity on 93.
Stamina: Stamina is not that important. It will give you stealth for using Quick Blades or Petrifying Poison. But you already have Swift Concealment. On top of that, getting Strength and Dexterity is extremely hard, so getting Stamina also at 36 is almost impossible.
Intelligence, Will, and Faith do not provide any value for Rogue, so skip them.
Stealthbreak Venom: Activation Condition: Strength: While in [Stealth], unblocked attacks apply [Poison], dealing 25 damage every 0.5 seconds for 3 seconds.
Activation Condition: Strength: 29
Ambush: [Stealth] grants 50% Life Steal. This effect is lost upon breaking [Stealth].
Activation Condition: Strength: 60
Evaporate: Enter [Stealth] after killing an enemy.
Activation Condition: Dexterity: 62
Featherfoot: Entering [Stealth] increases movement speed by 200, decaying over 5 seconds.
Activation Condition: Dexterity: 93
Toxic Cloak: When [Quick Blades] activates, enter [Stealth].
Activation Condition: Stamina: 36
Rogue Weapons and Equipment
Rogue can use only 3 types of weapons in Dungeonborne: Daggers, One-Handed Sword, and Crossbow. What you will choose depends on your playstyle and stats.
- Crossbow + 2x Daggers
- Crossbow + 2x One-Handed Sword
Swords: Swords on Rogue are only great if you want to PVP without running and playing safe. It will deal a lot more damage than daggers, but you will not be efficient against monsters. So only use Swords for PVP.
Daggers: Daggers are what most players use. The reason is that Daggers allow you to backstab enemies dealing an insane amount of damage. As Rogue, you will be in invisibility most of the time, which will allow you to get behind the enemy and use a backstab. Extremely great if you want to farm or nuke enemy players. Daggers are not weapons that you want to use face-to-face against the enemy. Also, you can not break blocks with daggers.
Crossbow: Crossbow is a weapon that you should always have on Rogue. It allows you to damage enemies from a distance without them realizing where you are. Dealing with damage from a distance will allow you to lower enemy health drastically without them even being close to you. Once they are lower, they will naturally heal, so it will take you time to get close to them to kill them.
Equipment and Equipment Stats
For equipment and Heirlooms, create a combination of Strength and Dexterity so you can get the most important skills. Additionally, you want to get stats that will further increase your damage and movement speed so you can escape and move fast through the map. If it is possible to get interaction speed so you can open doors extremely fast, which is useful for attacking, running, and poking enemy players.
